The Next Doctor is featured in the new Radio Times, with a gatefold cover shared by David Morrissey, David Tennant, Dervla Kirwan - and some Cybermen.

But as the Radio Times ask - Who's The Doctor?

The cover is accompanied by a behind the scenes feature and interviews with the cast. Of note are the words of Russell T Davies, which indicate that there's more to Morrissey's "Doctor" than we're lead to believe.

“Hopefully, that creates a bit more intrigue,” says Davies, “and hints at interesting developments in the show’s future. Let’s just say that regeneration is a complicated process, and never as simple as it seems.”

Meanwhile, David Morrisey reveals that he's been invited to appear previously, but was unable to due to other commitments.

“Doctor Who is great. They’ve asked me to do stuff before, but because of other commitments I was unable to. Then this came along: the Christmas special, which has added kudos and an amazing character. Well, the ultimate character, really. But a tragic character, too. Something terrible has happened to him. Over the course of the episode, bits of what happened are revealed . . .“The Doctors become great friends,” he says. “In this episode the Doctor [Tennant] doesn’t have a companion, which is rare, and my Doctor fills that gap. But all those questions my Doctor wants to ask about himself and his past have to be put aside to save London from destruction.”

 거기엔 닥터는 누구인가를 묻는 질문도 적혀 있다. 잡지엔 비하인드 씬에 대한 것과 러셀을 비롯한 게스트들의 인터뷰가 실려 있으며 러셀은 우리들이 믿는 것 보다 모리세이 닥터가 더 많이 나타날것임을 이야기했다.

러셀의 말 "아마도 조금 더 음모가 포함된 이야기가 될 겁니다. 데이비스가 말했다. 앞으로 전개될 이 쇼의 진행에 대한 흥미로운 힌트를 드리자면 재생성의 과정이 아주 복잡할 거라는 거예요. 절대 간단하지 않을 겁니다."

한편 데이비드 모리세이는 이미 전에 출연 섭외를 받은 적이 있었지만 다른 계약 때문에 할 수가 없었다는 것을 밝혔다.

"닥터 후는 대단한 쇼입니다 그들은 전에도 제게 역할을 부탁했었지만 다른 스케쥴 때문에 할 수가 없었어요.
이 크리스마스 스페셜의 제 역할은 명예롭고 놀라운 캐릭터입니다. 정말 최고의 캐릭터죠. 하지만 한편 어떤 불상사를 겪는 비극적인 캐릭터이기도 합니다. 어떤 일이 일어나는지 줄거리를 약간 밝히자면...
그들은 서로 멋진 친구가 됩니다. 이 에피소드에서 데넌트 닥터는 컴페니언이 없어요. 아주 드문 경우죠. 대신 제 역할이 그 공백을 메울 겁니다. 하지만 저는 과거에 런던을 구하기 위해 제쳐두어야만 했던 제 자신에 대한 모든 의문에 대해 물어보길 원합니다.
