With a strong presence in the independent film genre, actress Tina Holmes is quickly making her mark on the small screen as she reprises her role as 'Maggie Sibley,' the daughter of James Cromwell in HBO's multi-Emmy® and Golden Globe award®-winning hit series "Six Feet Under," created by Alan Ball. In the fifth and final season of "Six Feet Under," Holmes's character is embroiled in an intense and ultra-secretive story arc that is under lock and key until Episode 9 when it all comes to a head. "Six Feet Under" premiered on HBO on June 6th.

This year, Holmes will be seen alongside Evan Rachel Wood, Ron Livingston and James Woods in the feature film, "Pretty Persuasion" directed by Marcos Siega. The film tells the story of a manipulative Beverly Hills high school sophomore and her two friends who frame a teacher for sexual harassment and subsequently create a media frenzy surrounding the incident. Samuel Goldwyn Films and Roadside Attractions (producer of "Super Size Me") purchased the distribution rights to the film after the overwhelming response it garnered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. The film is scheduled for a Fall 2005 release.

In addition, Holmes can also be seen this later this year in "Keane," an independent film that was well received at the New York and Telluride Film Festivals. This heartbreakingly disturbing film stars Damian Lewis and is directed by Lodge Kerrigan. "Keane" is a tale of a man in his early 30's who struggles with the loss of his daughter who goes missing from the Port Authority bus terminal in New York. The plot is thickened by the fact that Keane suffers from schizophrenia and therefore we don't fully realize whether or not the loss of his daughter is real or imaginary. Canary Films, in conjunction with French distributor's, will release "Keane." Holme's made her film debut as 'Maggie' in the 1998 Strand Releasing film, "The Edge of Seventeen" a favorite at the Sundance Film Festival and throughout the festival circuit. Holmes' subsequent film credits include "Fixed" (2005), "Waking Dreams," (2004) "Storytelling," (2001) "Seven and a Match," (2001) "Prince of Central Park," (2000) "The Photographer,"(2000) "Godass" (2000) and "30 Days" (1999).

In 2002, Holmes appeared in the USA Network's/ Steven Spielberg's multi-Emmy® and a Golden Globe® award-winning mini-series "Taken," an epic saga, based on actual historical events, that connected the stories of three families over multiple generations and their crucial roles in the history of alien abductions during World War II. "Taken" created a powerful and emotional tale of mankind's encounters with extraterrestrials.

Holmes' additional television credits include guest-starring roles in such acclaimed television drama series as "24," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "NYPD Blue," "Strong Medicine," "Judging Amy," "ER," "The Division" and "Third Watch."

In addition to acting, Holmes has spent a considerable amount of time studying, traveling and researching and pursuing a variety of interests including foreign language and documentary film. Holmes grew up in New York City and Connecticut. She earned her way into Yale University where she was a student for two years. Holmes then decided to study Brazilian literature and culture and spent four months at the Federal University of Pernambuco in Brazil. She then moved to Paris and studied French literature at the Sorbonne. Holmes concluded her college education by completing two years of study at Brown University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Comparative Literature.

After graduating college, Holmes returned to Paris to serve as a research assistant on a documentary on famed novelist, poet and playwright Jean Genet. While there, she also worked as an intern in the curatorial department at the Centre Pompidou. Holmes then made her way back to New York where she took on a variety of jobs with the hope of learning different sides of the entertainment business.

The experiences and challenges that Holmes embraced in her youth are often times those found in someone twice her age. For starters, Holmes was an intern at the production company, Good Machine, then she worked for the famous photographer Bruce Weber as a production manager for his documentary on Robert Mitchum, she assisted documentary filmmaker Dr. Shirley Sun on her film about General Stilwell and traveled for research purposes to Hong Kong, Beijing, Malaysia and Singapore, she produced music videos for Aphex Twin, Blonde Redhead and Pavement under her own banner company called Voidstrutter, Holmes taught video at Sidewalks of New York, an after-school program for children in homeless shelters, and then she produced and directed the documentary short film, "You're Nobody Until Somebody Loves You" in which women in the 80's and 90's shared their experiences and offered advice on love. It was after all of this that Holmes found her calling, acting.

Holmes currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband.

흠...영어의 압박이라..;;;;;;
