그동안 작가 파업이다 뭐다 말도 많고 탈도 많았던 미국판 라이프온마스가 

예정대로 David E Kelley에 의해 ABC방송에서 제작하기로 확정됐다고 한다.

Life on Mars 'will be US series'

Philip Glenister and John Simm played DCI Gene Hunt and DI Sam Tyler US network ABC has decided to press ahead with a full series of time-travel drama Life on Mars, which is being remade for American TV, reports say. A pilot episode was written by Ally McBeal creator David E Kelley, who had bought the rights to the show. The Hollywood Reporter said ABC had now ordered an extended run, with Irish actor Jason O'Mara in the lead role. The programme starred John Simm and Philip Glenister when it was originally shown in the UK. O'Mara will take Simm's role as a modern-day police officer who is transported back to the 1970s. The original version of Life on Mars won a Bafta last year and the finale of the show was seen by more than seven million people in April 2007. It spawned a sequel - Ashes to Ashes, set in the 1980s - starring Glenister, who has now signed up to appear in a second series         샘 타일러역을 맡은 제이슨 오마라(Jason O'Mara)

Obviously the question will be whether the limitations of the original of the original Life on Mars will be a natural fit for the voracious demands of US network television. The UK original was pushing it to stretch to two seasons of eight episodes. If Life on Mars does well Stateside, there could be 22 episodes a year. Clearly there will have to be some format changes to take the strain off O’Mara and Meaney if it is to succeed.

성공을 위해서는 포맷을 바꾸는게 좋을거라고? (이미 외모에서 부터 그런데 뭘..)

Life On Mars가 아니라 Life On Jupiter?로 제목도 바꾸시지요 - -;;
