"Law & Order UK"에 대한 프리마와 벤 다니엘스 인터뷰

Freema Agyeman and Ben Daniels appear on ITV1's "This Morning" to promote "Law & Order: UK"

New interview with Digital Spy about Law & Order: UK's last episode (spoilers) and series two. As well as Doctor Who and what's next for Freema. No new photos sadly.

Can you give us any hints on what we can expect from your character, Alesha, in the next episode?
"I think what they've done - which is quite out of character - is deviate from the formula. It's more about the regulars, and something happens that affects them more on a personal basis. One of the things I love about the show is the fact that you only learn about the characters through the context of their job. What happens is really hard hitting and it's nice that they've mixed it up at this stage - six episodes in - to deviate a little bit."

Were you a fan of the show before the UK version?
"Yeah, definitely! And that's what I was saying: I just loved that fact that in an hour you get nine months' worth of crime and convictions. The show is so stripped back, but you get just what you need from it."

And you've enjoyed doing the series so far?
"Oh yeah - I've had the best time. We've all had a brilliant time and because it was something so new the producers all the way through were really open-doored. There was a real open dialogue on set and we were always allowed to see the progress or rough assemblies, and I've never had that on a job before."

Have you had a positive reaction since the show began?
"Dick Wolf said it has just absolutely exceeded all of his expectations. And of course if you've got the thumbs up from the big daddy you know you're in!"

How do you get along with your co-stars?
"I've made some wicked friends. I've got a lot of my stuff with Ben Daniels, who is my new favourite person in the whole world! He's very funny and very naughty, which is perfect for those long days sitting in the court. Bradley's a laugh a minute as you would expect, and with Jamie Bamber and Harriet and Bill, I just couldn't be in among a better crowd of people."

What can we expect when the show comes back in the Autumn?
"It's out of character to hang stories over into following episodes but there's a certain degree of reflection when the show returns. It's nice to have a little bit of the recap, but at the same time we've got to be true to the fact that they are stand-alone episodes. If someone tunes in in the Autumn for the first time we don't want them missing out."

Have you heard anything about a second series?
"We know certain things but again it's dependent on so much. The way the climate is at the moment as well, it's like a big dominoes thing. But if it came about, I'd be very interested! I'm really proud of it and I love Alesha - her journey is quite interesting. I love it and love the people so couldn't ask for much more - let's see how long it goes for!"

How does your role on the show compare to other parts you've played?
"I think the show has such a very different feel to it. Also because it's something based in such fact – the law – it's a lot you have to be mindful of. I think with what I'd just done immediately before with Martha you could fabricate a lot more because it's not based in any sort of truth. You can decide how you think you would react if you landed on the moon but with something like this there's a whole group of lawyers that are informing the show the whole time."

Are you looking forward to returning to Doctor Who?
"You leapt in there with that one! Well, actually, I'm on my way to do a voiceover for a Doctor Who audio book! You never quite leave when you're in that – the connection maintains all the way through. But in terms of when I'm going back to Cardiff - it might be thirty years time! I don't know when that's going to be."

What do you think of Matt Smith as the new Doctor?
"I think he's great and he looks absolutely fantastic. I can imagine there must've been a fair few people up for that part and for the people who were searching for the new man to have such confidence in him, he must clearly have blown them away. He's a really good actor in all the other things he's done so you put all that together and I think he's going to be outstanding."

Did you know David would be leaving?
"I knew there were lots of changes going on, but I didn't know he was going. I knew about certain changes from when we were halfway through series three - so when I knew what Martha's future arc was going to be I was then privy to other bits and pieces. In terms of what David's decision was ever going to be - no, I wasn't aware of that."

What's next for you? Have you got anything else lined up?
"I'm going to go on holiday come next week for a nice long stretch of time. I haven't committed to anything at this particular time and I haven't signed any dotted lines. There are a few things knocking about but to be honest when I get home we'll probably know what we're doing in terms of Law & Order.
