Christopher Eccleston is set to return to the London theatre scene for the first time in almost ten years as he appears opposite The X Files' Gillian Anderson in Donmar Warehouse’s much-anticipated production of Ibsen's A Doll's House at Covent Garden from May.

The Ninth Doctor actor - whose recent credits include invisible man Claude in Heroes - will also appear with Toby Stevens (Die Another Day), Anton Lesser, Maggie Wells and Tara Fitzgerld in the play which runs May 19th to July 18th 2009, with previews from May 14th.

Eccleston last performed in the West End in 2000 in the Haymarket revival of Strindberg’s Miss Julie, while a planned role in Marlowe’s School of Night at the Comedy Theatre was called off with days to go.

Nora - played by Anderson - thought she had the perfect life until a ghost from the past returns, and makes her realise she’s stuck in a suffocating marriage. The drama unfolds against the backdrop of British politics at the turn of the last century, in a world where duty, power and hypocrisy rule.

닥터후에서 9대 닥터역을 맡았던 크리스토퍼 에클리스턴이 10여년 만에 런던의 연극 무대에 선다는 소식이다.
그는 5월부터 The X Files의 질리안 엔더슨과 함께 코벤트 가든 무대에서 입센의 작품인 A Doll's House 을 공연할 것 이라고 한다.그는 최근에 Heroes에서 투명인간 Claude 역을 맡기도 했다.

연극 인형의 집은 5월 14일 시사회를 시작으로 2009년 5월 19일에서 2009년 7월 18일까지 토비 스티븐스,앤톤 리서,매기 윌스, 타라 핏제랄드 등과 함께 공연할 것이다．

에클리스턴은 2000년 웨스트 앤드의 헤이마켓에서 스타인버그작 Miss Julie의 무대에 섰으며
Comedy Theatre에서 올린 School of Night의 말로위 역은 취소됐었다.

질리안 앤더슨이 연기할 노라는 과거로 부터 망령이 돌아오기까지는 자신이 완벽한 삶을 살고 있다고 생각한다.
그리고 그것은 그녀가 숨막히는 결혼생활에 얽매어 있다는 현실을 깨닫게 만든다. 
이것은 의무, 힘과 위선의 법칙이 지배하는 세상인 지난 세기 영국의 정치를 배경으로 그에 대한 저항을 나타내는 드라마이다.








10대 닥터인 데이비드 테넌트의 활동 소식만 듣다가
에클리스턴이 연극무대에 선다는 기사를 보니 너무 기쁘네요.
더구나 엑스파일의 스컬리, 질리안 앤더슨과 함께라니!!!
무대에선 두사람의 모습을 상상만해도 흥분과 기대에 설레입니다.
영국에 가서 직접 그 무대를 볼 수 없다는 사실이 새삼 슬프네요..ㅠ.ㅜ
