존심이 휴먼 트레픽으로 막 유명세를 타기 시작한 1999년 8월 Loaded 8월호의 인터뷰입니다.
세월이 흐른후에 다른 인터뷰에서 말하길 휴먼트레픽을 찍었던 당시 자신은 헐리웃에 진출해서 세계적인 배우가 되길 희망하면서 톰크루즈 같은 배우가 될거라는 야심에 차 있었다고 했는데 그 말처럼 이 인터뷰에서는 미래에 대한 자신감과 기대에 들떠있는 스물아홉의 건방진(?) 젊은이 존심의 모습을 볼 수 있습니다.
특히 요즘 인터뷰에서는 볼 수 없는 비속어를 남발하며
유명해지면서 여기저기 유명인의 파티에 초대되고 많은 사람을 만났지만 다 쓰레기 같은 인간들이라는 말을 서슴치 않고
헐리웃에서 불러 줄 것을 확신하면서 가게 된다면 LA는 싫고 뉴욕이 괜찮을것 같다며 거들먹거리는(?) 모습이 귀엽기까지 해요.
하지만 한편으로는 이제 더이상 그런 희망은 없으며 현재에 만족한다고 웃던 얼마 전 인터뷰가 떠올라 서글픈 느낌도 들었다는....ㅠ.ㅜ

Being seen off his tits in Human Traffic is definitely working for John Simm. The Leeds-born 29-year-old began his acting career in Rumpole and The Bill, before making his film debut in Boston Kickout. The Lakes got him into the nation's front rooms and his band Magic Alex got him a support slot with Echo and the Bunnymen, but it's Human Traffic that could make him a star.

 How has Human Traffic changed things for you?

I get recognised, and I get into better parties.

 Do you have lots of new friends?

Too many, man. Too fucking many.

 Are they better than the old ones?

No, they're all cunts. But so are my old mates.

 Do you get invited to a lot of celebrity bashes?

Yeah, yeah. I went to the Saatchi thing last night. I met Giggsy and Becksy. It was the biggest thrill I've ever had in my life.

 Are you going to be a regular on chat shows?

No, I'm getting sick to fucking death of seeing myself everywhere. I'm going to go home and become a hermit.

 Aren't you trying to get things going in Hollywood?

I'll wait till I'm invited, I think, then maybe I'll go.

 You won't be moving to LA, then?

No way!

 How do you feel about the place?

I hate LA. It's a pisshole. I think New York is nice, but generally Americans are dicks. I mean, look at the backpackers on the tube.

 Will you be punching any paparazzi?

I would if I got the chance. If one said something to me, definitely, yeah. I just need a cheeky one to come up to me. I need the right motivation. At the premiere of Human Traffic, I was gagging for some fucker to come up to me and say something so I could twat 'em.

 Will you be buying a house with a pool?

Yeah, yeah. At the point when I get enough money to do that, then yeah, I will.

 What shape will the pool be?

Arse shaped.

 What's the best thing about being a star?

Jo Whiley sends me CDs. She sent me the Shack album and stuff. Being mates with Ian McCulloch. And meeting Giggsy.

 How long until you buy a yacht?

A long time. I can sail it in my bum-shaped pool.
