Japanese Woman Arrested for Virtual Murder

가상세계에서의 살인으로 체포된 일본여성

 

 

 

A Japanese woman has been arrested for virtual murder after killing her avatar husband in the popular online game Maple Story.

The 43-year-old woman was upset that her virtual husband was divorcing her.

“I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry,” she told investigators while admitting the allegations.

The woman used her pseudo-husband’s login information she had aquired while the couple were happily married to access his account and kill his avatar.

The 33-year-old office worker contacted police when he discovered his avatar was dead.

The woman was arrested Wednesday and was taken across the country, traveling 620 miles from her home in southern Miyazaki to be detained in Sappporo, where the man lives, the official said.

(arrested on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data (hacking) .

If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison or up to a $5000 fine.

According to officials the woman had no plans of revenge in the real world.

 

 

 

 

한 일본 여성이 인기 게임 메이플 스토리의 아바타 남편을 죽인 혐의로 체포됐다고 한다.

43세의 일본여성은 가상 남편에게 이혼당하고 화가 났다고 한다.

그녀는 "난 어떤 경고도 없이 갑자기 이혼당했어요.그래서 너무 화가났습니다" 라고 수사관에게 진술했다.

그리고 가상공간에서 행복한 결혼 생활을 하는 동안 알아낸 로그인 정보로 남편 아바타를 죽일 수 있었다고 말했다.

아바타의 주인인 33살의 회사원은 그의 아바타가 죽어있는걸 발견하고 경찰에 연락했다

수요일 그녀의 집 미야자키에서 620 마일 떨어진 가상의 전남편이 사는 삿포로에서 불법적인 컴퓨터 접근과 해킹혐의로 체포됐다.

유죄가 입증되면 그녀는 5년형이나 5000달러의 벌금형을 받을 수 있다.

경찰 발표에 따르면 이 여성은 현실에서의 복수는 계획하지 않았다고한다.
