Dr Who fans enjoy Proms special

Freema Agyeman (left) played the Doctor's assistant, Martha Jones Thousands of Doctor Who fans have seen a specially-filmed scene starring David Tennant at a BBC Proms concert dedicated to the sci-fi drama. The concert featured music from the series, as well as classical favourites from composers including Holst and Wagner on the theme of space and time. The panto-style scene, showing Tennant addressing the 6,000-strong audience, was also shown on the show's website. Actress Freema Agyeman hosted Sunday's event at London's Royal Albert Hall. She played Martha - the last-but-one assistant to Tennant's Doctor. Series producer Russell T Davies wrote a specially-filmed scene for the concert The special scene was written by Russell T Davies, who masterminded Doctor Who's return to TV screens in 2005 and announced recently he would be stepping down as executive producer from 2010. "We've had a brilliant time," Davies told BBC News. "If you were in the Royal Albert Hall, you would have had a unique Doctor Who experience," he said of the special scene's airing. "It's fantastic because people queued in the heat and came a long way - I met someone who came here from Belgium." Davies paid tribute to the man who will succeed him at the helm of Doctor Who, Steven Moffat, calling him "a genius". "People don't care about me, I'll just be a bit of history and the show will continue like it has done for 45 years," he added. "콘서트를 보기 위해 무더위 속에 길게 줄선 사람들과 그중엔 먼곳에서 온 사람들도 있다는건 대단한 일이예요- 전 벨기에서 온 사람을 만나기도 했다니까요.- 데이비드는 또한 스티븐 모펫이 닥터후를 성공적으로 이끌어 나갈것이라고 생각한다며 그를 "천재" 라고 칭해 경의를 표했다. 그리고 "저에 대해서는 걱정하지 마셔요. 저는 단지 계속되는 이쇼의 한 부분일 뿐이며 지난 45년간 이 쇼가 이어진것처럼 닥터후는 앞으로도 계속 이어질것입니다." 라고 덧붙였다. 닥터후 BBC Proms는 2006년 Children In Need를 위한 저렴한 입장료로 처음 카디프 밀레니엄 센터에서 열렸었다.
